Misbranded food: Firms fined `5,000

North Goa District Magistrate, Nila Mohanan, has imposed a penalty of Rs 5,000 each on manufacturing firm M/s Prayag Foods from Thane in Maharashtra, the distributor firm M/s Shree Ganesh Traders and the food business operator Nagesh N Naik of M/s. Shree Ganesh Traders for indulging in the business of manufacture and sale of ‘Vermicelli’, which was declared to be rnmisbranded food.

Meanwhile, it was also informed that a certain food safety officer, Flavia de Souza of Directorate of Food and Drug Administration had filed the adjudication proceedings against these food business operators.
